What attracted you to Coventry University and the course you chose to study?
It was originally suggested by a friend who also thoroughly enjoyed it. After going to the open day and talking to one of the lecturers I could tell the university created a fun and warming atmosphere to help you enjoy your studies. I chose my course as it enabled me to become an engineer with a year in industry experience, helping me to become more employable after graduation.
What were the highlights of your course?
My course included diverse subjects all of which are very relevant to the industry today. As well as having the privilege of being taught with some of the most experienced professionals within the industry.
How did studying at Coventry University equip you with the skills you need for your career?
Studying at Coventry University taught me the fundamental subjects, which every engineer needs to know prior to entering the industry. It also provided me with several opportunities to complete a project within a diverse team just like I am doing today.
Describe what you do and what you find most enjoyable about your job.
The most enjoyable part of my job is knowing I am working towards outcome, which will help stem the future. No day is ever the same, with the tasks at hand forever changing, there is always something new to learn.
What attracted you to working in the sector you now work in?
I always had a fascination towards construction. I knew that entering the construction industry would be challenging and rewarding. I wanted to help change stereotypes within the industry, I believe that women just like myself have many skills to offer which can only enrich the industry.
What is your happiest memory of your time at Coventry University?
One of my happiest memories is working on my dissertation with my tutor. It felt great to be working one on one with such an experienced individual and create my greatest piece of work to date.
What would you say to a student thinking of studying here and why?
Coventry is a great place to study where the lecturers bond with the students, which is uncommon in many other universities. The lecturer’s doors are always open for any help or questions you might have.
